Close to 25,000 Experiencing Electricity in South-East Queensland and Victorian Regions Following Powerful Storms
Nearly twenty-five thousand residences in Queensland's southeast were left experiencing outages on Monday's dawn after severe thunderstorms swept through the state, bringing strong winds topping 109km/h.
Substantial Ice Stones and Widespread Damage
Locals reported giant hailstones as large as seven centimeters in certain regions. Meteorological experts verified that various areas across the state had been affected by significant hail.

Utility workers were working to restore energy supply throughout the impacted areas, with dozens of response units deployed to handle the numerous electricity disruptions.
Victorian Weather Woes
At the same time, nearly 1,000 energy customers in the southern state also faced energy failures after Melbourne saw its wettest day in over 500 days.
State Emergency Services received over five hundred requests for assistance across the state, mainly for structural issues but also for downed trees and water accumulation.

During the peak on Sunday, in excess of 28,000 power users in the state were experiencing outages.
Meteorological Predictions
Damp conditions were predicted to continue along much of eastern Queensland this week as a low-pressure trough continued to attract humidity against the coast.
Tuesday was predicted as the most rainy day, with persistent storm activity anticipated across different parts of both regions.
Health Warning
Health officials warned that there was an greater possibility of thunderstorm-induced asthma across the countryside regions, especially given the ongoing climate situation.
This warning comes after past events where analogous circumstances led to major medical consequences in the area.
