AC Shadows Reveals Surprising AoT Crossover for Holiday Season
In a surprising collaboration that defies traditional predictions, Ubisoft has unveiled an virtual collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected Thanksgiving event continues from November 25 through December 22, providing free bonus story content for Shadows players.
Strange Questline Disclosed
According to the formal announcement, "A strange confrontation pulls characters Naoe and Yasuke into a original quest, where rumors of forbidden practices and monstrous transformations resonate through the darkness." The narrative presents a "oddly garbed woman named Ada" who assigns the characters with traveling into the Gemstone Grotto—a important location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her friend from a secret cult.
The adventure centers on "peculiar experiments and a fearsome enemy" and is open to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Iconic Settings and Transformations
The teaser highlights the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was earlier where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through generations. The preview ends with a powerful moment showing a character, presumably the prisoner, transforming into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Items and Additional Features
Players who successfully complete the adventure will obtain an unique katana in addition to several artifacts concealed throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also features in-store Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-inspired outfit for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe
- Special arms
- Survey Corps vehicle
Newest Free Story Addition
This release also adds the game's newest free story content, titled "A Puzzlement." This lighthearted adventure teams Naoe and Yasuke as they trade characteristic techniques: Naoe debuts a dramatic version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires subduing stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "A Puzzlement" also includes a new environmental puzzle that may eventually explain some unresolved questions from the main storyline.
